Taking Caboodle from screen to physical space was a challenge I didn’t expect. The platform was designed for digital interaction — how do you translate that into a room?

We exhibited at Stellenbosch University in 2020, showing the full research process, the design thinking, the user testing, and the community that formed around the platform. It was part academic presentation, part art installation.

The most rewarding part was seeing people who had used Caboodle online walking through the physical space and recognising their own experiences on the walls. That feedback loop — from research to design to community to exhibition — felt like the project coming full circle.

It also taught me that research doesn’t have to stay in a PDF. You can make it physical, make it experiential, and people engage with it differently when they can walk through it.
